Very difficult to configure - you have to turn it *off*, then enter a
special key sequence to enter a special setup mode where you can tell it
what formats your TV can support. Only then, will your channels appear
properly on screen if you are viewing using an HD input.
Can't tell how much disk space remains available - how much recording
time you have. (This is fixed in the 8300 model)

The hard disk fails - you need a new box when this happens. Many people
have reported this failure - which is probably why they tell you to power
the unit off at night.
You can't use the Play button to play a show if it is highlighted in the
list of recorded shows.
